how to be a DJ and where to get the equipment from?

i reallllllllllllllllly want to be a DJ i have wanted to for years!!! i just absoulutely love techno and just cant get enough of it. i really want DJ equipment but its really expensive and i cant buy something cheap because my family dosent believe in credit cards :S so i cant use them. i dont no how to start or where to go and just really need help. CHEERS!

    The place to check out equipment is music stores. They often have bullitin boards with used gear.
